Knobs Haven offers space to individuals or groups for a weekend, a few days, or a week. Groups generally bring their own leader, although arrangements can be made for retreat facilitation.
Two spaces are available to those using Knobs Haven. The first is a lovely 2-story, air-conditioned house built in 1873, with a large kitchen, gathering area, library, prayer room, enclosed sun porch, and ½ bath on the first floor. The upstairs has seven bedrooms and 2 full baths; the three larger bedrooms contain 2 beds each, making the house easily accommodating of 10 persons.
The second space is located on the third floor of the historic Academy Building. Four large bedrooms with sitting areas are suitable for single accommodations, and the additional beds in those rooms can expand their capacity to 11 persons. Six smaller single bedrooms, each with a/c, bring the sleeping capacity of this space to 17. Also on the third floor are a large gathering area, dormitory-style bathroom, and kitchen. An elevator is available, with access to a ground-level ramp.
Some groups use either the house or the Academy building; larger groups use both areas.
Meals are eaten in the community’s main dining room, where retreatants/groups may dine alone or with the community.
The fee for an overnight stay is $55/person/night, including up to three meals in the dining room. For persons staying one night only, the fee is $60/person.
Loretto Motherhouse is a smoke-free environment.
